Miss fire #5 cylinder, what could it be?
We took the stang ('99 GT) for a cruise tonight and it started to run a little rough and the CEL came on.
Went to Autozone to have it checked and they said it came up Miss fire #5 cylinder.
What could it be, a coil pack, spark plug, anything else???

Could be a bunch of things. For starters, take the coil from cyliner 5 and switch it with a different cylinder. See if the misfire goes to that cylinder. This way you know it's a bad coil. If not, then switch a plug. If not, then switch an injector. All of those shouldn't take long at all.

you are right coil or spark plug. If it is not that you may want to do a compresson test

Well, I took the car out today and it ran fine, CEL is still on, but it ran fine and it is not rough like it was last night.
I still haven't got my car back together fully after my paint work and the hood opening for the shaker is still not sealed for water yet. I washed the car yesterday and I flooded around the scoop opening more then I thought and water must have gotten on top the engine into the coil packs or something.
It seems to have dried itself out.
Next, will the CEL shut itself off after so many starts of not sensing the misfire or will I have to go back to Auto zone and have it turned off?
I know the wife's van CEL will turn itself off after not sensing a malfunction after so many starts, but I don't know about these cars.

Oh minor detail... [8D]
Well, I didn't exactly wash the engine bay, too much water just got in around the shaker scoop and over ran it's gutter and spilled on to the engine around #5 cylinder because I havn't gotten everything back together so it shouldn't do that.
Atleast that's what I figured what must have happend.
