Default Seatbelt

So i called my local ford dealership and asked if they ever did a seatbelt recall for my 2000 GT and they said they weren't recalled..which sucks because my seatbelts clearly dont retract and my old 1999 V6 had the same problem. Ive been told 100 times that they were recalled and the guy still says that they weren't recalled but then i looked at Recalls on this website and it says that they were recalled so im really confused. So is it just me being stupid or is the dealership wrong?

it appears that the recall is for the seat belt not pulling out preventing the occupant from wearing it, not for retraction issues. hope this helps

thats true, it wasn't about how much it sucks to use it but just the safety issue. my passenger side got so bad that i had to replace the belt and retractor. it's a whole lot better but still isnt very good. by the way if you ever consider replacing one its a breeze and the part wasn't as expensive as i thought it would be from ford.

they have a tsb out on it (not free) i did it to mine it involves installing a piece of teflon tape on the d ring (the part the belt goes through that is about head level) this lowers the friction and makes the belt retract faster. ever since i did that it zips right back in. a dealership should be able to look it up for u and the parts dept should be able to order the kit its something like $40 i think but its cheaper than 2 retractors.
