ok so im upgrading my alternator to a 200 amp alternator beacuse i have a hefty JL system in the trunk. i have already gone and bought an optima yellow top battery as well as a 1 ferrad (sp) capacitor and the alternator is sitting in my room. my question is do i need to upgrade any of the cabling or wiring harnesses since im getting a much larger alternator? what do you guys think? help is much appreciated.

Whenever I have upgraded to 100 amp alts I have installed #8 wire. Can't give any info on 200 amp units however with battery, starting & charging systems its always best to have primary wire & battery cables rated for more amps than necessary.
