Default Could this be the cause of my Check Engine Light (o2 sensor harness)

I have a catted Bassani X-pipe installed for years and have not been throwing codes until recently (P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency below Limit - Bank No 2)

I went underneath the car today to take a look and possibly replace the o2 sensor on Bank 2 (passenger side) and this is what I saw. Could this damaged wire harness be the culprit...

It could--you need to open it up, can't tell just by looking at it...Here are the possible causes for P0430, from the factory shop manual.[ul][*]Use of leaded fuel[*]Damaged HO2S[*]Malfunctioning ECT[*]High fuel pressure[*]Damaged exhaust manifold[*]Damaged catalytic converter[*]Oil contamination[*]Cylinder misfiring[*]Downstream HO2S wires improperly connected[*]Damaged exhaust system pipe[*]Damaged muffler/tailpipe assembly[*]Retarded spark timing[/ul]

I got a replacement o2 sensor so was going to install in its place to see what happens. Problem is that sucker is on there really tight. Sprayed some WD-40 around the joint and hopefully it loosens up here pretty soon.

Looks like the damage is not only on the o2 sensor harness but the plug the harness connects into. Hopefully I don't have to replace that too.

you could get away with just making your own plug or soldering the wires directly together.

u nless the wires were damaged i dont see that bieng your problem. my passenger side 02/mil harness looks worse then yours (it was dragging under my car for about an hour and a half).
