Default 00' SOHC 4.6 swap w/ 5.4 SUPRCHRGD Lightning

Do you think I would need rediculus mods in order to finish a project such as this? I contemplated keeping the SOHC 4.6, but if I'm saving money for performance mods on a car with 104k miles, it doesn't seem to be such a great idea. I already have 3.73 gears in my T-5 (I think its a T-5), so would that match up to the 5.4? I talked to a guy at a shop and he said that everthing should match up perfectly. Thanks for letting me pick your brains guys!

The "T-45/T3650" should match up fine. It's all the same block anyways with the modular stuff. If you grabbed a 5.4 you could do it, but I would make sure I got the motor from the oil pan to intake with wiring harness and ECU included. Makes it much, much easier to do.

ps - you have 3.73 gears in your 8.8 rear end, not your transmission.

You'd need a tubular K member too, 5.4 oil pan doesn't not fit with stock K member. You'd also either have to cut a hole in your hood or get a new one, will have some clearance problems with the supercharger sitting on top of the motor.

If you're going to use the lightning s/c you're going to need a 10' cowl for your hood. It is seriously ridiculous.

Any other questions, no but seriously when I started my 5.4 project I was planning on using the lightning s/c but then I realized high ridiculous that thing is sticking out of the hood.

Thanks guys. I found a lightning engine with s/c for $3500 that has 47k miles on it, so I figured I ask the experts for your opinions. So a K member would be about what? So everything would be alright, with exception to the k member and hood, correct? I do believe that would be a hell of a lot more performance than messing with my current engine and having $3k into it only to break the 300 rwhp mark, agreed? Anyone know the specs on the lightning? Also what I'd run in the quarter as a decently good driver? Pretty stoked about this whole ordeal =D
