racing a 500hp benz, if I win it's MINE!
Okay I need any and all advice on this one. My girlfriend's cousin's boyfriend (stay with me) is one of those loaded income people. He has a silver 493hp 2003 CL 55 AMG and belives there is no way possible my stang will beat him. I plan on getting the HPerformance twin turbo kit (looking at stage 1 might shoot for stage 2) 3.73 or 4.10 gears, shift kit, Diablo tuner, better bottom end, light weight reduction, suspension upgrades, race compound tires, and maybe NOS. I know theres probably more things to do so let me know. My father is going to give me $15,000 (thanks to Illinois lottery!) and I will use my credit card for the turbo kit. I told him give me about a year and he said cool. Me and him are pretty good friends and he could buy about 7 more if he wanted so I am pretty sure it's a legit deal, plus he's tired of it and wants a Laborghini Merceilago. He says it has to be at a drag strip (duh!) and that it has to be a 2 of 3 race. If I win the car is mine if I lose I still keep my car but pride will take a beating. So that's the story. I have about a year to do what i need to do so I can get that Benz and sell it for another modified stang. Shelby Cobra anyone? Give me any advice you can.
P.S. I don't think I'm going to ***k with the Lambo!

Miles Per Gallon: 14/22 mpg
Curb Weight: 4255 lbs
Layout: Front-Engine/RWD
Transmission: 5-Speed Auto Speedshift
Engine
Type: Supercharged V8
Displacement: 5439 cc
Horsepower: 493 bhp @ 6100 rpm
Torque: 516 lb-ft @ 2750-4000 rpm Redline: ---- rpm
Performance

Also I was thinking of getting the Cammer engine and after my car is made stronger, tubocharging it. Has anyone ever heard of this engine going into a 99 GT? Selling a $114,000 Benz would really get me something mean. It's a year off so I will try to keep my excitment contained. Yeah right! LOL

ok with 15k you have a wide range of options. In MY opinion you should get a Kenne Bell 2.2 SC (+220 HP), 4:10 gears, full intake, bassani headers + x-pipe, diablo chip, kb pulleys, etc......you'll be around 600HP

I was thinking about the x-pipe but I live in Chicago so I need the cats on my exhaust. I don't know to much about the KB SC but give me a link so I can check it out. I don't do alot of highway driving (but I do plan to use the highway) so should I go with the 4.10's? Thanks for the input.

OK, well first of all, get an HP Stage II kit, a billet stroker kit, full exhaust, P-51 intake, upgrade your fuel system, a gear, a fat *** Mickey T in the back and you could spot him 5 and the hit and still win. I will be pushing 750HP+++ with almost the same set up this winter. Talk to HP and those guys will help you more. Check their web site out and you will be amazed www.turbochargedpower.com
