how do you change the fuel filter?

RE: how do you change the fuel filter?
How to change a fuel filter: First you need to buy one..lol Go in the trunk and unhook the connector plug for the fuel shutoff(the box behind the driver tailight with the red button) Start the car and let it idle until it just dies. This will relieve the fuel pressure so it won't squirt into your eyeball...lol The filter is up underneath the trunk just infront of the gas tank. You simply pry the plastic clips out and the lines come right off. I believe there is an 8mm screw that you need to loosen before you can pull the braket down to take off the lines without kinking them. Pay attention how the old one comes off as there is a specific direction it needs to face. Follow the "flow" tag imprinted on the side of the filter canister. Plug in the lines and push in the clips. Plug in the fuel shutoff connector and your all set. Turn the key to the acc a few times to prime the fuel lines and then start the car. Check for any leaks. Your all set!

there are no plastic tabs to pull you will need a set of fuel line disconnector tool there plastic and slip over the fuel lines and you push in on then to release the internal clips.

^+1 since you have an 03 you'll need a disco tool, either the scissor looking one or the little plastic disks. slide it in until you hear or feel it click and then separate the lines

I have plastic tabs on mine. There are however the spring locks to remove the fuel pump on top of the tank that do need the ltools, but just plastic u-clips on my 97 for the filter. Just put in a new filter as well as a fuel pump!

how tough is this to actually do? I don't like the idea of springs and such shooting everywhere? or am i thinking its overly complicated when its really pretty basic.
