Brain storming..
I was looking at my blown-up GT in the driveway today, and I'm really having a hard time considering getting rid of her. You know how you can look at 20 similar cars, and for whatever odd reason, 1 car out of those 20 strikes your eye and pretty much everyone else who see's it??

I saw a Mach 1 in person for the first time today and it didn't have the same effect on me as my GT does...

So, the motor is going to be replaced under warranty, and after that I shouldn't need to worry about my warranty, as trannies are cheap & rears are cheap if one were to bust...

Is it possible to supercharge a GT for under $3500? This is assuming, everything is new & installed for this price...

Motor puked.

I see some vortech kits going for around $2300 bucks. You don't think 1200 for various parts & installation is enough?

Dan, be sure you get supercharger kits that fit 2001 - 2002 cars, and also the new vortech kits selling for 2499 are justtuner kits, meaning they don't come with larger injectors, bigger fuel pump, or a chip that you will need. Installation at most all performance shops will run 500 bucks. I would recommend that you get a custom tune if you go over 6 lbs of boost, you dont want detonation or drivability problems. A custom dyno tune from T&J in Atlanta runs 500 bucks, but there is no chip to buy and they reflash your computer, much better than a chip. Also, if you can install a cat-back exhaust, you have the ability to install a supercharger, its just bolt on as well. A new vortech with a steeda power pipe, injectors, fuel pump, and mass air meter is 3250 from T&J, install it yourself and take it to them for the dyno tune (put your gears in first and they can program your computer to fixspeedo as well) then your lookin at 3750 total.

You can get the Kenne Bell 6psi non- intercooled kit for $3599 at proficient performance.com. Thats where I got mine. Its good for 100RWHP on an all stock GT. All I can say is AWESOME! Ive added a 3.25IN pulley to it and im at 385RWHP. I realy need a larger MAF.

If I buy used I need a really good deal, 2500 is a good deal, but I dont want the 30# injectors, chip, or 80mm mass air meter.

2500 would buy me a new tuner kit. I am desperately lookin for a great deal. I will be going with 38's or 42's for sure, as well as a 255# pump and a lighting mass air meter or better. I want the cost of everything to be 2k or less, so that I can be at 2500 after the dyno tune.
