Flowmaster is not better, Flowmaster exhausts are barely better than stock unless you go with their straight through race mufflers, which aren't street legal.</P>

Magnaflow &amp; Dynomax have got their crap together and are putting out some incredible numbers. I have clips of a Magnaflow system on my 02 GT, give me your AIM or e-mail address and I can give them to you.</P>

Go to www.mustangexhaust.com You'll have to register with them to hear the clips, but there are a ton of clips there. As of right now, I personally run stock manifolds, MAC off road x pipe and cut out flowmasters. I'm very pleased with the sound and most everybody else is too, but some think it's too loud<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0">. Hope this helps. <edited><editID>stangfromhale</editID><editDate>37919.7553819444</editDate></edited>

This site has some clips of a MAC cat-back on a 4.6 Mustang. MAC sounds really deep and beefy. I've heard one in person and I swear this guy's '02 'stang was as loud or louder than a lot of older muscle cars. It sounded like he had a 351 with straight-through race mufflers. It was AWESOME!!</P>

I don't know how MAC performs compared to the others, but it sounds really good. For performance, you could choose Dynomax, Magnaflow, or Spintech and you'd be pretty safe, and they all sound really good. I just listened to the Spintech samples, and they sound pretty f**kin' good on the 4.6! I knew they sound good on the older cars with big blocks and such, but they really bring out the roar of the 4.6.

well what i was planning was like an exhaust system like MAC then a free flow h-pipe attached to a set of longtubes. i presume thats its going to be extremely loud but i wanna make sure the car gains soome power yet keeps that mustang style rumble. the slp sounds more like an exhaust you would want on a camaro or trans am. yet the mustang sound is something thats very hard to duplicate thats why i wanna keep that low rpm rumble and high rpm sound of pure V8

so from what i have read on the forum, the h-pipe gives you more low end power and the x-pipe gives more top end power, is that correct. so if i attatch an h-pipe at top end would i feel the car have less power, or if i install an x-pipe when i take off the line would the car feel as if its lost alil power. i went to mustang exhaust and heard the exhaust systems. and hands down i think the magnaflow with the free flow h-pipe sounded the greatest. at idle and at WOT. the SLP sound not that bad just that its loud as hell just cat back, can u just imagine with longtubes and a free flow h-pipe or x-pipe. it sounded mean just didn't have that regular mustang rumble. it had more of a camaro or trans am shake to it...thats one thing i wouldn't want my mustang to have cause the GT sound is very distingushiable from many other v8's. so i guess my choice would have to be magnaflow cat back, then later on some free flow h-pipe and longtubes. thanks for the help.

i have a question, whats the difference between the regular magnaflow cat-back system and the magnapack system. i went to the magnaflow homepage and they had the cat-back system for the 03 cobra and the 99-03 GT but also a maganpack system. is that a louder or more performance exhaust, or justa totally different set-up?

It's louder, more of a glasspack type sound.
