Default clutch blow out...

saturday i took a friend to north carolina to pick up his mach 1...on the way back we was racing and when i went into fourth the second i let out of the clutch it made a really lould sound, couldnt go anywhere...the first thing that popped into my head was i ripped the tranny again. i finally get the car home and sunday i took the tranny out and then took off the clutch and the clutch disc was completely destroyed. i started inspecting the bell housing and when the clutch blew out it shot a small piece all the way threw the bottom about half an inch wide. will i need to weld up the bell housing or will it be fine like it is?

thanks

No, the bell housing will not be fine and as for the clutch, spec or centerforce.

+1 on the centerforce, -1 on the spec, personally I have had nothing but problems with the last 2 spec clutches I have used, I would go with a centerforce of MCleood

My did the samething too. Sound like a 22 went off in the floor of the car. Had a spec. clutch. Now it got a RAM clutch and so far working out fine. Tim at mph said that the best shifting clutch he ever felt.
