Default coolant confusion

I have a 96 gt it has 94000 miles on it. the coolant system seems fine no leaks, no bad hoses, no bad or dry rotted ends on hoses. my problem is the check coolant light always stays on and rarely ever thens off. what can this problem be. your repose is much greatfull. thank you

There's a sensor on the cap/dipstick that goes into the overflow bottle. Either fill it up or disconnect the plug from the cap. I had it on my 91 GT, lol, one time I filled up the overflow and forgot to put the cap back on, it fell into my fan and chewed up the dipstick thing, light would stay on after that, I just unplugged it and it went away.

THEN QUIT DRIVING IT and get it taken care of.

That's why my bud's car is costing him out the butt to take care of, instead of the $40 for gaskets.

I had the same problem. Disconnect the stupid sensor at the overflow bottle. They never work right.
