Don't get me wrong but a fairly stock 4.6 mustang is a dog. My old 5.0 I just sold eats em alive and I didn't do much more than gears plus it was a heavy convertible. Still yet, that would be embarrasing to lose to a GA. I recommend doing the following:

Buy a new Cobra

Invest $2000 in it

Eat everything

It seems to be working for me

I found the guy again and got the basic info on the setup 99 GTP 3.8 s/c motor, and trans. I did some research and found that the power to weight ratio in that car is an awesome setup he also throws in a small dose of N2O for his hard runs to cool down the S/C not a bad setup for a grand am, But this dude is crazy he is pulling that motor out and putting his four banger back in after all the work he did he's throwing it out for a 4cyl???? He showed me his old motor he blew it was a 2.? something that he claimed ran a 13.9 I kinda believe him because about the only thing stock on that motor was the block plus he was putting about 150 shot of N2O to get those times this new motor is built pretty much the same except for stronger rods and crank. I told him he should just buy a saleen or cobra with all the money he spent on that car his reponse was (I love beating a car when they think they have an easy race on there hands)I guess he makes a valid point Because I thought I was gonna hand his *** to him but it was the other way around.

I've toyed with the thought of turbocharging my Corolla for the same reason..just to beat a few guys who think they'll win. The problem is it's over $3,000, I already have 122k on the engine, and I would probably be stuck in the 15s..*maybe* 14s if I was lucky..who knows.

Im sure by now he's done pulled it the night we went cruising he told me that this was the last night with it in there. He was having tons of problems with it he said he had put $7000 into the project and he didnt wanna waste anymore money on it, I think a guy with a caviler was buying it off him to put in that little car he was selling the motor and trans for $4000 and was getting that modified 4 banger and it installed in the deal I dont blame him, it was a good deal kinda hard to pass something like that up.

But im sure he will have something else in there soon he was talking about throwing a Merlin crate motor in that car crazy ***.

No flaming intended but I've have a stock gt and I'm running 13.7 at 101.11mph I go to the track everyweek and I see 5.0 gt's modified with gears ,exhaust, U.D.P.,and chips. Only running in the high 14's.

I don't see how you could say my gt is a dog.

And my best 60ft time is 1.9

wrong wheel drive that is tight- i have a boy with a 97 prelude and he was trying me the other day, i just got my car and i wasnt sure about the clutch or gears but neway... he took a turn and gunned it and i went a around pretty quick too-i pulled up next to him and he was in 4th i guess, he dropped it and i just stayed in third didnt even drop and pressed the gas and pulled away form him with ease- i guess this would be considered my first victory, well that and i took a acura gsr but those sweet and sour cars dont count do they... where is that grand am at though-does he have a forum too, and if so does he have a pic-id like to see it.
