Default Vacuum Leak in a 2000 Mustang V6, Help please

Hi, I am going to tackle finding the vacuum leak later in my gf's v6, I was going to try soap and water in a spray bottle, but I am not sure exactly where to look in her sixer since its different from my body style. I would also like to know if anyone has had problems with this too and made their car run richer and waste more gas,

she also has the problem of when she presses the gas pedal all the way, the ac air starts to come out through the defroster instead of the actual ac vents. I believe it might all be linked to the same problem, a vacuum leak.

Any experience and responses in this is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

anyone? I ordered a Hayne Manual to figure it out myself, just was looking for some mechanical advice.

Also found out that she is leaking gas and a part under the car that connects to the tank is all rusted and destroyed, and I need to find out the part name/number for it.

Dont` know about the vacuum leak, but the tank leak is probably a cracked rubber grommet that connects the fill tube to the tank. had that problem on my `00GT. The part is only about $12.00 from the dealer, but you have to drop the tank to install it.

check all the lines that lead from the plenum to the valve cover. I had a leak for the longest time and couldn't find it and it turned out to be a the line connecting my IAC or something around the plenum to the valve cover.

if its a hose you can use cigarette smoke or some other means of smoke and have the car idle, it will be sucked into the leak, but you need to block the air from the fan

I tried water and soap and ran the car, and didnt find the leak but the main vacuum hose on the passenger side is decaying, it literally was falling apart in my hand which resulted in black fingers with rubber particles, so the hose is destroyed and that might be the problem even though i couldn't find the leak. Not sure where to get that exact hose part but i guess i'd have to go to ford.

you might be able to go to autozone or really anywhere and get some 5/8" pcv heater hose.

Disconnect all the Vacuum lines and start over. That's the best way to look.

my guy at Ford told me it was a valve that connects to ac....more problems that i was told about: My gf told me that when the ac is off it makes an annoying sound that doesn't go off til she turns it on. Any idea if that is the same problem?
