Default LUCAS gear oil

Hey I want to change the diff. fluid in my 2000 GT.

I bought some Lucas 80/90. ive been told I need friction modifier but does anyone know if this fluid will work without it?

It says this on the bottle.....

Excellent for use in limited slip differentials. No special additive needed.

And here is what it says on the website.....

Lucas Heavy Duty 80/90 Gear Oil
Gear oils have needed improving for years, especially in the hi-performance industry. The Lucas 80/90 enjoys the technology Lucas developed in making the "Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer", the number one supplemental oil in the heavy duty industry. This gear oil formula is fortified with special anti-wear agents and lubricity agents to control wear and drag as well as special additives to control heat. These features are not found in ordinary gear oils. This gear oil is both excellent for racecars and any heavy-duty application where plain gear oils just aren't good enough.

and its a lil under 2 qts right?

thanks for all the help....

you can always play it safe and just go with mobil 1 or royal purple gear fluid and buy the 4oz of friction modifier this way there is no question.

No he doesnt. Read the bottle hommie it already comes with a friction modifier. It should be at the rear of the bottle in lower corner. I run 85 140 Lucas and it works great for me. Already has modifier included in the bottle.

Our cars take 2.5 quarts. You're gona need a 3/8s rachet to close trhe hole when it starts dripping out and its a bitch to put in. Get a piece of hose and attach it to thebottle so you can transfer it safely.

All of the synthetic gear oils have friction modifier in them, but not enough. I've tested and anaylzed the oil myself numerous times to know.

So again, add friction modifier.
