Great thread, Fool. Don't worry about guys like Ruffcat. For some reason it's important to some people to know more than everyone else on the Internet.
Ruff, seriously.. If you dissagree with the thread so dearly, DON'T POST. Just sit back, shake your head.. And find another avenue to ransact. There are others who are interested in Fool's Post, and we simply don't need the clutter of constant bickering.
Fool, will you be going with a Dyno Tune or Tune of any kind when you're finished? I'm not certain, but isn't it required?

Good thread. I realize that those who want maximum horsepower would want to rebuild the old motor using forged internals but not all of us are wanting the $5,000 alternative and low mileage 2v Mustang motors are going to start becoming harder to find. If Wikipedia is correct Ford is only putting new 2v 4.6s in Crown Vic Intercepters, F-series (3v in 2009), and E-series. In a couple of years it may be hard to get low mileage 2v motors.

Off-topic a little: 2005 was the last year for the Ford 4v 4.6L motor except for Panoz Esperante.

ruffcat needs to go sit in a corner and get out of this thread if he has no good information to say.yes romeo and windsor blocks are the main difference but every step in the how to was very informative and you explained it in a very easy way to understand . ive never took apart a motor myself but you made it sound very easy and clear.good job and have fun with the stang.
