I cooler t-stat is a must. I am a firm believer that the # 1 cause of intake problems is (besides poor build quality) is heat. You ought to see how soon the intakes crack on Police cars. It is directly related to idle time/driving habits as well.

Laugh if you want, cause it does seem like a stupid question, but I know nothing about the cooling system: How hard/time consuming is it to install this 11 dollar part? I too need to get my operating temp down... Think I'm about to order that 180 degree thermostat from SLP.

Scratch that, I watched Livinglegends extremely detailed and might I add well commentated install video. kudos to you friend and thank you.

Follow the upper hose to the intake manifold. Where the hose attaches will be the t-stat housing. Held in place by two 10mm bolts. Remove....etc.

The 160 T-stat has been proven time and time again. If you look around with the F-bodies, most of them that have an aftermarket T-stat run the 160.
