NO!! ask youself what is your main purpose of buying this car? if you intend to make it fast enough to run with a real car, just don't make the mistake everyone else did on this forum. go buy a 98 LS1, and you won't have any regrets. then you can look at all those mustangs putting all there time and money trying to run with you. and don't get a convert, they are slower

okay dips**t, not everybody in the word gets a gt to race an ls1 or lt1. If they were a chevy person, then maybe they would consider it. LT1's and LS1's are pricey, one of the reasons they are GONE!! The Mustang is the most affordable v8 high performance muscle car ever, THATS why we like mustangs, and thats whythere willbe mustangs made in 2004,2005,2006,ect.. unlike your big bad car. Our aftermarket vs yours, umm... I will take mustangs anyday.. But thanks again for another 2 cents...

First of all dude, LT1's suck ***, and I'm sure even you know that. Don't compare ***** kid, I'll humble you real fast with my '65 GTO. The only reason the LS1 cars are faster than Mustangs are because of more displacement. If Ford used the 351C instead of the 302 and 281, Mustangs would be whoopin' up on GM all day long, because they are lighter, and the 351C is just a better engine than a 350. Also, LS1 cars use a Y-pipe, it's not even a true dual exhaust.</P>

Let's see, I picked up my '96 GT for about $10k less than an LS1 Camaro...so let's add it up:</P>

$5,000 = KB twin screw blower &amp; intercooler
$2,000 = forged internals
$1,000 = complete exhaust, headers back
$200 = cold air intake
$200 = gears
$1500 = PI ported heads and intake
$3 = Calvin pissing on Chevy sticker <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

So dumping the same amount of money into a Mustang, guess what....the Mustang is kicking the living snot out of LS1 cars all day long without breaking a sweat. Have fun in your big bad LT1 dude. <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"></P>

ok, do you drive your gto as a daily driver?? dumbass... 2nd i bought my 96 lt1 for 6K, so someone paid you to take a mustang for 4 grand??? i don't see you 10k logic there.... blahh blahh, look all those mods just to run with kings of road. yea, displacement..thats your comeback..is it my fault you decided to buy a smaller engine?? no.. so don 't use that as an excuse.. <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

LOL you're lame. I drive my GTO anywhere and everywhere. Secondly, you need to brush up on your reading skills, because I believe I said "LS1." Your LT1 sucks nuts, deal with it.</P>

"Kings of the road." I find that funny, considering any '03 Cobra will mop the floor with any '03+ Camaro...oh wait, that's right, there are no more Camaros. LOL. Best decision GM could have made.</P>

FYI, all those mods aren't needed to boost a Mustang to kick the crap out of an F-body. All that's needed is a blower, or NO2, or a head swap and gears, and even the smaller engine will whoop up on your Camaro. For the price of an LS1, I'll take a 500+ HP Mustang anyday...</P><edited><editID>USAMuscle</editID><editDate>37932.6149189815</editDate></edited>

i don't think any 12 sec. car sucks nuts but maybe thats what you do in your spare time because you seem to be thinking a lot about it.. you drive you GTO everywhere great..but if you have a 03 cobra, gto, and a 96 stang i don't think you have to worry much about the 4 miles per gallon you would be getting. either way you have no point..</P>

head swap and gears....not happening, blower and NO2 to keep up besides the point all i'm saying is alot of people with mustangs buy stupid mods and waste their money..not everyone has a GTO a 03 cobra a 96 GT and an unlimited bank account...for the money i spent on my car i just feel bad on all newbie mustang owners blowing their money in the wrong direction...i don't know where you are going with this argument excpet that you like ***** and you have a lot of money..wow...for about as much money you spend on insurance a year i have a 12 sec car. </P>

I think there should be a new forum called Playpen.Thisis where we'd banish 16 year old kids who getcamaros from their Mommy and Daddy. They'll be perfectly content spouting off their ignorant beliefs while the grown ups can talk in the tech forums. Once they've matured enough and gotten enough attention (which they aparently lacked as a younger child) they can evenutally move back into the tech forms. Thank You.</P>

It's sad that it takes an LS1 just to barely out run a stock GT. LS1s are a waste of money for the performance you get. Buy a GT and supercharge it or spray it and they're still cheaper than what you originally paid for the LS! and will blow your doors off. They are no competition for a cobra. You'll need a LT1 at the least to make it interesting for the cobra. Mustangs rule that's why they have outlasted the so-called "competition". </P>
