Default cold air or not

i was just about to go out and purchase a cols ain intake for my gt. then i read that it doesnt even really make that much of a difference and that i should just take off the air silencer. is buying a cold air wasting money or should i go for it?

Yes it is worth it, your engine bay will look better because the huge air box isnt in the way of everything. although I did not notice much gain I only bought the 60 dollar AM CAI.

I say just buy a k&n and take off the silencer if it makes you fell better. Some aftermarket cold air kits use metal tubing which gets hot and sucks in hot air. Leaving the silencer prevents that as well as the plstic tubing. I use a C&L intake tube which is made of a materiial that doesnt get hot hooked up to my stock air filter housing with a k&n. JLT also uses a material that doesnt absorb heat.

Either way you put it the air tube will get hot. If the engine bay is hot chances are anything else in it is hot. + shiney CAI appeals more when u pop the hood compared to the ugly tubing of stock.

idk, from what ive heard you are just wasting your money on the throttle body unless you are planning on doing bigger mods along with it. Not tried it personally, just what I have heard/read.
