Default valve covers

so i was looking around and thinking i would like to get soem valve covers for my 04gt. i already know what im getting into with removing them while the engine is still in the car, its a bi***. helped my friend on his 04. my question is, would these fit? i know in mid 01 (i think) there was a change from the windsor to the romeo (again, i think) blocks. does this make a dfference in whether or not the valve covers will fit? im relatively new to stangs. thanks in advance

Yes they will work. Romeo heads (01-04)have an 11 bolt pattern which is in your link, Windsor heads (99-00) have a 13/14 bolt pattern.

sucks that the chrome ones are the only ones on that site that fit mine...im not about chrome too much, could probably live with it under the hood though. not planning on doing this for a while but wanted to start looking. thanks, i knew i had read about a difference between valve covers on windsor and romeo engines.

Late Model Restoration Thats a direct link to the satin ones that LMR sells, they are 100 dollars cheaper too.

Just in case you're creative, I've seen a few pictures of stock valve covers that have been painted/finished to resist the heat, and they look amazing.

I don't know where it was, but I saw someone who'd done a couple different colors/schemes and they all looked pretty slick.

Just something to think about. I'd rather spend 20 dollars and some time prepping something to look customized than spend 4-5X that for something that's obviously manufactured (edit: holy ****...make that 10-20X more expensive). Especially when they don't do anything productive for your vehicle. lol

Good luck.

Oh, and by the way. +1,000,000 on the valve covers being a son of a bitch. I can honestly say, that aside from dismounting the power steering pump, the valve covers were the WORST part of my head install. How pathetic is that :-(
