My friend uses the Falken FK-452's and he is not entirely happy with them. He likes them on the street but for autocross he wants more. They would be more compared to the Nitto 555 range of tires. Great street tire but lacking when really pushed.

Are you going to be autocrossing/open track or is this just for the street? If you aren't going to any events, you could get away with a less sticky tire that will last a bit longer.
Wow, looks like we posted the same thing. lol. I guess I was right on the 452's...

I just got back with the rest of my platoon today (been away from them in a more forward area for 3 months now) and was talking with my friend, the one who got me into 'Stangs, about tires. He used to have the FK452's and wasn't impressed, so I guess those are DEFINITELY out of the question, with only bad reviews about them. They might be good for other cars, but not for ours. Leaning towards BF Goodrich G-Force Sports right now.

On the suspension subject...does anyone have any experience with UPR QA1 shocks/struts? Are they mainly a drag product?

Never used them.

I use MM for my suspension stuff.

i picked up a pair of falken azenis 615 245/40/18 and went to the first auto x of the season and i will say i had very little understeer if any (only during heavy breaking and thanks to my breaks getting mushy) and im running nitto D/R in the back. If i had them all the way around im sure it woudl have been even better.

You would def be better all around. The soft sidewalls of the nittos don't help either.

ya i know i made my own life difficult, i wish i had a set of spare tires that were actually decent to use and to spare the life of my D/R, I have a pair of my old nitto 555 but they are worn out and dont have an extra set of wheels either.

sorry for jacking thread OP

Depends on what you want to do. If you are looking for a ST type autocross tire that you can use on the street I would go with one of these:

Nitto NT05
Falken Azenis 615
Kumho Ecsta XS
Hankook Ventus RS-2/3
Sumitomo HTR Z III

I run Toyo R888's on my Summer wheels and held EXTREMELY well at last w/e's autoX event.

Was told I need to give up my Sunday-driver ways 'cuz I never really even go sideways. Was 8 seconds behind winning driver at 44.??? seconds.
