a shift kit is for at the track. it lets u shift the car at whatever rpm u want when u leave it in 1,2 and d. stock trans's dont shift as quick. ( if u shift at 5500 a normal shift would go at 5800 verses the shift kit that would shift at 5500)

ok no.

a shift kit makes your shifts firmer... a manual valve body allows you to shift... big difference. and fwiw, a shift kit is not just for the track

Right.....it pretty much just ups your line pressure doesn't it? When you refer to a "manual valve body" do you mean a J-mod? From my understanding a J-mod ports and re-routes your valve body so more fluid can flow....wrong or right?

a j-mod isn't a manual valve body, does the same thing a shift kit does.

Theres a major terminality issue with this mod.....seen it called about four different things....most often a "J-Mod."

a j-mod allows more fluid in the valve body by increasing the size of the holes in the separator plate......basically what a shift kit does. a manual valve body makes an auto fully manual control and holds the gear its set to.
