Default Cobra spoiler on a gt

I have an 04 gt. I really like the spoiler on the cobras. I was wondering can I switch them. Like will the holes match up or do I have to like get new trunk? Don't really know that works. Where can it too?

if you are refering to the '03/'04 cobra spoilers that are like a "duck tail" spoiler, then yeah I'm in the same boat as you, the holes on our GTs do not match up with the holes on the '03/'04 cobra's, you'd have to either buy a new trunk, or have someone patch the holes on the deck lid and drill new holes for the spoiler, as for the cobra spoiler itself, you can find some new/used on craiglist or ebay, a guy on this forum was selling one a while ago for like $350, they can be pretty pricey as $350 is the cheapest I've seen
I've gone the cheap route being a poor college kid and just took the spoiler off... it looks kinda like it lol

Ford will ask for a leg and your first born child, especially for Cobra parts... have you tried salvage yards, I was looking for an 03/04 cobra front bumper and got a great price on a refurbished one, like a third of what it would have cost me a dealer

I add a rounded up price of shipping and i think most body parts are not painted for you when you order them brand new i think.

Cobra parts are usually very expensive to buy new, especially the 03/04 spoiler. Your best bet is to be patient and constantly browse sites like SVTP and wait for a part-out thread where you can pick one up.

Yeah the 2 holes in the front will be exposed after the cobra spoiler so you'll have to get that plugged or filled in. You will also need the cobra trunklid harness since the brakelight wiring from the cobra wing won't plug straight up to the GT one. Or you can make your own. I just bought the harness from Ford for $62 and I also need to order the cobra trunklight soon (optional, of course). The GT trunklight is part of the GT 3rd brakelight assembly which has to go out to install the cobra spoiler.

Besides that, take your time to drill the holes. The cobra spoiler has 5 studs sticking out from the top and 2 threaded holes on the back. The 2 on the outside of the top goes straight into your old rear GT spoiler holes. I checked the measurements like 7 times before dirlling the holes and didn't get it 100% right so I had to make them a big bigger for some leeway for adjustment. It still isn't 100% but close enough and looks good and almost OEM. I haven't drilled/installed bolts for the 2 at the back since i'm having a hard time figuring out how to measure for that (since there are no studs sticking out of the rear of the cobra spoiler).

Here's a good old write up you could use for picture reference.

I put mine on last week:

Good luck and just be patient when finding one, it will come to you.
