What causes the airbag light to come on?
After way, WAY too long, I finally got my Cobra back and it's actually running. (I drove it home about 20 miles with no hood.) LOL
Two things of note were both the Check Engine and the Air Bag lights are on.
The guy messing with the tune said the Check Engine light is on because the AIR pump isn't on the car. (Electric pump in the passenger side fender.) I was under the impression you could shut it off in the tune (98 Cobra and a Diablo flip chip), but he said you can't.
As for the air bag, I have NO idea where to even start with that, so I'm hoping you guys have some ideas.
I'm glad to have the car home after all this time and can't wait to get a final tune in it so I can drive it in anger, but I'm still far from satisfied with it. Now I've got to start working out all the little things that are wrong with it and smooth them out.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Alan

Why was it being worked on? What did the guy remove or disassemble? Airbag lights can be anything from clockspring, seatbelts unplugged, crash senors, RCM, airbags, wiring, hell the fuse could even be pulled..
You need to get the code and I'll go from there.

Thanks whitefox.
I just realized the seat belts aren't installed correctly. (The interior is pretty much gutted right now.)
I'll get the interior back in, hook up the seat belts properly, and I'll report back.
FYI: the car was in the shop to clean up some issues I was having with a turbo build. I had the steering shaft out of the car, but was very careful to not turn the wheel at all. I can't be 100%, but I'm as close as you can be in thinking the clock spring should be okay.
I had the front sensors off to mount the intercooler, but otherwise, I don't think anything else in the system was touched.

Thanks. I'll check it all as soon as I get home.
I'd be more than a little annoyed if the airbags were jacked after all this work. It also sucks that I have to pull the front bumper to get to the sensors.
It never ends...
