Check your lugnuts. I had a loose wheel once because I forgot to beast them down. Took me forever to figure it out and I felt pretty stupid once I did. Definitely made a rattling sound that stopped when I applied brakes so couldn't hurt to check.

Will definitely check lugs and anti rattle clips. How do I go about checking for bad hub bearings?

I had the lugs checked and it turns out that the calipers are loose. In fact a bolt came out of the drivers side with no effort at all. I will keep you all posted as I try to restore this car back to its original self.
