Is the plastic idler Vortech supplies smaller?
in the middle of putting my vortech on and went to put the belt on and the 2 idler pullies where too close to each other. i don't have the plastic idler pulley that vortech supplies is that one smaller than the factory one?

I spent hours researching this a while ago because I couldn't find any information.
The factory smooth idler on your car now attaches to the metal plate on the vortech bracket. In place of the factory smooth is vortech's 3" smooth idler.
Then you need to take your factory ribbed idler off and replace it with a ribbed 2.6" idler. I used a 2.5" idler from NAPA which is the closest they had and that works fine.

there are two idler pullies on the car stock. One is around the alternator and it is smooth. The other is ribbed and is all the way to the left when you look at the engine from the front. It is around 3" stock and the one you replace it with is 2.6" because the vortech bracket won't fit over the stock one.

yup used the 2.6 i got at autozone in the left side of the block and then had to get another around 2.7" smooth pully for the other idler becuase the stock pulley was too close to the s/c idler. got it worked out and it runs great.
