One of my buds out here in Sac has a 2000 GT and runs the VT stage 1 cams. Before he did his rebuild he put down 286 rwhp with stock heads and your basic bolt ons. He had a 100-125 shot of nitrous and those numbers were before he had the nitrous put on. I like the cam idea but somewhat agree with doing the gears first. Although you'll be paying around the same for each mod, I believe the $1000-$1500 on gears is parts included unlike the cams

$1500 for gears? parts are under $250, whose paying $1250 for install? that would be like a 13 hour job labor wise. gears profesh install with parts shouldnt cost over $700 imo.

lol yeah.. thats cali, here you can get it done for $300+ parts. Either way there is no reason it should cost as much as gears + install the parts are 1/2 as much and the labor should be too.

back to the origianal question, gears then cams. Ur car will need the gears the get the cams spinning quicker on the street. But cams are completely worth the price. Not only does it sound badass it is tourqy as a ****. I might only have 290 peak hp but I dare u to race me from a dig or a roll.
