wtf is came? you mean cam? A cam will give you actual horsepower gains, though not much IMO to make it worth it to do without getting head work done. New gears will make it accelerate quicker without actually gaining any hp.

Well its going to be camS not cam.
You'll have to buy a set and unless you are above average mechanically inclined and have a good set of tools your going to be paying some one to put them in.
They are a LOT more expensive then the average gear swap, theres much more to go wrong.
Cams and springs I guesstimate in the $700 range, install I'll guess in the 1k range and at almost 2k your getting close to blower dollars.

+1 cams do not yeild enough power gains for them to be justified imo. gears make a difference, are cheaper and would be a better choice.

the average person should be able to get the cams/springs installed for around 1500. but thats enough to get some spray and actually make more than 300hp...lol

Actually it is cam. He has an 03 GT (SOHC not DOHC). But yeah the gears are the best bang for your buck. That and some good tires and you'll be good to go bro.

Actually it's cams. The SOHC motor has a cam in each head, and there are obviously 2 heads so there are 2 cams. DOHC motors have 2 cams per head, so you guessed it, 4 cams total.

For the record my 2-valve gained 40rwhp at peak and over 50rwhp at 6000rpm, with CMS Stage II cams and stock heads. Where do some of you come up with this stuff?????????

From what i hear doing cams with stock gearing would make the car more sluggish in every day driving because of the power loss down low.

So i would do gears first, since it would complement the cams better.
