Default PCV mod....catch can?

I was talking to one of my friends the other day and he recommended that it isn't too bad of an idea to do a PCV mod....for one it cleans up the look a bit.

To my understanding it seems like a very simple mod, and for all it matters I would just re-route the PCV hose downwards to the ground and plug the hole in my intake tube. Appearently it also prevents my engines intake from gunking up.

I was told it would be a good idea to route it to a catch can so it removes the oil and etc.

I was wondering if anyone had done this before? And where should I mount the catch can?

Thanks,
Brandon
