Default help guys, installed new battery

Hey guys, about a week ago. I left my car lights on 2 days in a row and it died. (also left the light on a week before that and it died.) Basically ever since then. Sometimes my car will start sometimes it wont, and when it doesn't start i have to jump start it. I went to autzone bought a new battery. took out the old battery. Put the new one in. I put that oily material thing they give you for the cables and i also have those green and read round circle things put around the terminal. when i installed the new battery the car started fine. It was good the whole day. Until the next day. When i turned it off tried starting it and it didnt. I tried starting it again for the second time and it did. I went to get a haircut and parked my car outside on little hill. My car wouldnt turn on. Twice it did and it turned off 2 seconds later. I had to have a friend jump start it for me again. Whats the problem.

Did i install battery wrong?
Alternator?

Also at 36,000 miles ford put a new starter on my car, My car's at 70,000 miles now. So Im assuming it has nothing to do with the starter.

help!

have autozone load test your alternator, check the wiring to and from the alternator

sounds like you fried the alternator by charging the dead battery back to life
