Default '98 GT will not start

I have a 1998 (11/97) GT 4.6 that will not start. The theft light is blinking fast and I cannot get anything from the computer with either of two OBD II code readers. It just died will driving down the highway. It will turn over, but there is no spark. I tried two different code readers and they both come back asking me to make sure it is plugged in. I can't really afford to take it by the Ford house right now.

Well a regular scanner wont really tell you much. Make sure the OBDII fuse is still good (they like to blow) I cant find in the Ford wiring diagram which fuse powers the DLC, but use a test light and check all fuses and make sure they are good.

Next, make sure the PATS fuse is still good, it is also known to go bad (fuse 16 20Amp under the dash)

I am headed home after lunch and will double check the fuses. I guess I thought the code reader would tell me if PATS was activated. When I couldn't read anything I started to think the computer was bad. I'll post my findings.

Have u ever used a tuner on the car? If so I had the same problem. just leave the fuel pump fuse in instead of taking it out like it says and retune back to stock then start it shut it off and tune to what u want

I checked all of the fuses and found no problem. This is a stock setup with no tuner having ever been used. Though, I understand PATS can be disabled with some tuners and PATS seems to be activated, so right now I wish I had one. I wish I could just unplug/disable PATS so I could eliminate it as the cause.
