Default Spark plug recomendation for my 4.6

Hi need the right set of plugs for my 1998 GT 4.6L engine. I am in Phoenix AZ and I am detonating or rather just pinging a little under load. I think the proper heat range and right plug may help. Any recomendations?

Autolite 764 is all you need. Gapped .050"-.054".

Really you mean there is no benefit from using an iridium fine wire over standard construction in performance or at least wear/longevity? I don't enjoy pulling plugs (i do on my old cars and reading them) such that if I can get two years out of a set great. I have had my iridiums in my car now for 3 almost 4 years (I know I know). I think Autolite sells XP iridium Xp105 fine wires for like $6.50 which seems reasonable. Comments?

I just spoke with NGK and they recommended the TR6-IX over the TR55-IX plugs as they are the next heat range colder. They said no issues to run these one heat grade colder in terms of mpg or performance. I found a set on ebay for $6.25 per piece. I will see how these run and see if they let me go down a step in fuel grade in the summer.

I recommend the E3 spark plugs. Do your D&D research on them. Heres the website to do that:

I've always run TR6s in my Mustangs and my L. I got them for like 1.50$ a piece at Vato-zone, but my buddy does work there.

Doesnt your ca rhave a ton of miles on it? For some reason I keep thinkin that.

Oil soaked is not good lol. Does your car use oil? Burn oil? Smoke a little bit? Are you sure they werent fuel soaked and not oil soaked?
