Default summit exhaust

anyone used the summit mufflers or exhaust system? they say its the same as flowmaster 40 series exhaust but its like $150 cheaper. anyone know about sound and fitment?

Dimebag has the summit o/r x-pipe....and it leaks at the manifold on the drivers side... Its like they flared the joint too large, and it doesnt seat in the ball of the manifold fully...

i was also thinking about getting their h-pipe... same fitment issues probably?

The cheaper you go, the more likely fitment is going to be the luck of the draw rather than dead on like it is with better quality products. If the risk is worth it to you, then that's your assessment.

I'm starting to think this is not the right hobby for you. If you are already complain about the price of a catback ($150 difference) Just wait till you start getting into modding the motor such as head, cams etc.

Spend the extra money and get the flowmaster CB.

lol its not even like flowmaster catbacks are that expensive...

my buddy had a summit o/r x back in the day, he didnt have problems with it.

Call there sales line. I bought summit headers for my truck, they were pacesetters and even had the pacesetters stickers. summit just puts there name onto the product so they can sell it for less then the manufacturer allows.

Yes...on my ole skoo 91 5.0, it was very hard to find pipes that didn't fit, but these 4.6lers are picky sometimes...
