Default Steering shaft

as you all know i recently installed pypes LT headers and ever since my steering shaft it rubbing against them hard and making it really hard to turn the wheel and the wheel is sticking what do i do?

I had the same problem with mine.I ended up taking the 2 bolts out where the shaft goes through the firewall and enlongating them a little bit.I dont remember if i made them wider or taller,but its been a year and a half and i havent had a problem since.

All you have to do is get a dremel and grind the ujoint down a little bit. very simple took all of 5 min

so you had the same problem with you pypes headers? its rubbing pretty bad? all i do is just grind it?

either that/\ or dent the tube that its rubbing on.

yup they all do it. I got the first batch when I bought my pypes headers. I figured they would have fixed it with the 2nd gen but they didnt. I even wrote them an email explaining the problem to them but i guess they dont give a damn lol.

I got em for 290 after it was all said and done. FTW.. Basically I just took my dremel with a small grinding wheel and cocked the steering wheel so that I could get to all four corners of the u joint that was rubbing. About 5 min later and a bagilian sparks later I was rub free.

nice nice....i just spoke to my friend that does all my work and he said he doesnt wanna do that because it weakens the shaft and when it snaps going around a turn not to blame him lol will it weaken it?

your friends a worry wart to. that ujoint is easily a 1/4 thick at least. all it took was a little grinding off each side.. your not going to weaken it any. Think about it, I autocross my car. If it was weak it would have snapped already. Autocrossing your car is about the most abusive thing there is.
