Default another Tuner Question!

Hey guys, so i need a tune for my 97 cobra bad, and i got a quote today from the local shop saying i need to purchase a sct xcal3/sf3 then pay about 540 for a dyno tune to get it running mint. so about 900-950.

On Ebay i found the Sniper tuner for 350 bucks as a DIYer and i am somewhat scared of my air fuel components and tuning that crap. i am pretty good with a computer but wasn't sure if i would trust myself. Has anyone used it? is it worth it?

Another option is just the SCT XCAL3/SF3 from American Muscle with the free unlimited tunes for life. SHould i do that? Please LEt Me know what you think is best and any tips. Thanks

Nothing beats a true dyno tune as each car is a different animal. Buy the tuner an give it and the car to someone who tunes cars for a living. Expensive but some shops offer free tunes after the initial tune if bolt-ons are added later (not power adders) so it could work out okay, money wise. You'll learn more about it yourself from watching him play with the parameters and by asking him questions that you might feel comfortable making changes yourself later on.

Man im only 17 and i have the sniper. If you can flip through the channels on your Tv you can Use the sniper. its pretty easy, just yes or no questions about what ratio gear you have and stuff. only confusing part is when you upload it too your car the little lights flash, that confuses me sometimes. I kinda wish i had waited on a dyno tune but oh well

The Sniper software works well and is not hard to use. You will see good results on the 4V's.

You can read more about it here...... Sniper Delta Force Software
