Default Comp cams XE274H ?

So i found a killer deal (cams + springs for $400) and was wondering how these cams would be for a DD street car. install is nota problem i figured if they were worth it and had good driveability itd be a go.

i read some where that they would be no good on stock heads. in the future i was contemplating nitrous and i know the exhaust side is lower that hitech but would they work with the nitrous? and about how much power could i expect out of these?

car so far has - 4.10, diablo tune, 75mm tb/plenum, midpipes, catback, k&n filter
maybe i should skip these and go straight for the torque convertor and 100 shot.

Wow were did you find those and springs for $400?? Everywhere I've seen the cams are around $599 alone, and the spring kit is usually $200 or so. Those are stage III cams, you would have to get a stall converter if you have auto. By themselves, you'd probably get around 30-40HP, but you'd be way better off if you got also got heads too since you're already in there changing cams. Adding heads would prob get you combined 80-100HP.

found them on some local forums used.

heads are just a little out of my price rang right now though. with bolt ons except headers i could expect around 300 hp? these wouldnt be good for nitrous would they? and is there anything else i would need to look at getting if i did get these. its almost too good of a deal to pass up.

yes i have an auto and have looked at getting a 2800 stall convertor. because i found a good deal on that as well.

Where did you get this BS? Those numbers are way off for adding heads.

Aren't the 274s non-PI cams? I thought the stage 3 for PI's was an XE278.

whats the cam card look like? whats max lift? if its around 500 then there npi cams and around 550 there pi cams, obviously if there the pi cams you'd need too look at the duration and lsa and check if they will clear the factory unnotched pistons.

all im gonna say is you better check your PTV clearance those are big cams. they are NPI cams because the lift on them is .500. the duration is long on them but dont say someone didnt warn you when your piston smacks a valve
