Default Stage 2 cams and 3.73s?

What's up guys. I orignally planned on going F/I, so i decided to install 3.73s instead of 4.10s in my car.

Money's a little tight , so the blower is out of the question for a while. I was thinking of doing a ported heads and stage 2 cam combo, but my question is, with the stage 2 cams, will not having the 4.10s hurt my low end power?? Would it be wiser to just buy stage 1 cams? I really don't want to swap out the gears. Thanks.

4 10's will be fine but i would think twice about doing heads and cms the money you will sped on the heads and cam and the install is about what its is going to run ya for a blower unless you plan on doing it all yourself and in the end you will only end up with 300-330 hp vs around 400 or so with a blower heads are going to run ya at least 1400 bucks and the install is going to be at least 1500 i was in the same boat as you and said f it and bought a blower and i pcked up a kit for 2500

but the just my 2 cents

U will be fine with 3.73s and stage 2 cams with ported heads. If you plan on doing FI in the future go with blower cams. Otherwise you will be wasting your money. n/a car will work fine with blower cams. If you are porting your heads then I recommend you go with CMS stage 2.5 blower cams. If you degree them properly you won't lose much or any lower end tq.

As mentioned above if you are buying new heads and cams you will be spending some dough. With stage 2 cams you will need springs as well.

I've been stressing over stage 1's and 2's lately since i'm getting ready to pull the trigger on cams, and after much research and debate i'm going with stage 2 cams.

I would still do it with 3.73's.

well i was thinking of getting patriot perofrmance stage 2 heads with CMS stage 2 cams for $1800, then selling my stock PI ones for $400-500, or whatever i can get.
i plan on doing the install myself (well with some friends), so i figure $1300-1400 isnt too bad for 50-60rwhp, as i've been researching. i just didn't want to have to swap out my gears again for something steeper.

these Boston streets are KILLING my car, and its my DD, so unless i get another DD, i dont feel like dropping so much on a blower. I'd be content with 315-325 rhwp for awhile, and if i ever get bored, a nice 75 shot will help me out.
