Default PI Swap Question(s)

I searched for this and I know that everyone says "Premium" gas with the PI swap. Most places "Premium" is 93 Octane. I live in Nebraska, "Premium" here is 91 Octane. My question is will the 91 Octane gas be ok after the PI swap and the Compression boost to 10.5:1?

Another thing is, what is good base line price for the PI Intake, Cams, and Heads? I know a guy that is swapping motors in his 2000 Mustang and is will to sell the stuff I need. I did some looking and on ebay a set of heads and cams went for 205 and the intakes usually run about 100(180 new from summit). I plan on rebuilding the heads before putting them on my car, along with a cam as well.

Thanks in advance,
Riggs

91 is fine. I did my swap and actually had 11.1:1 compression. The dyno shop told me to run premium fuel only. The prices you mentioned are good prices for everything.

I knew that I would need to run premium just wanted to make sure that 91 would cut it, or if I would need to go with a thicker head gasket or something to drop the compression down enough to run 91 with out any problems.

Guess another questions I just came up with... To get the best performance from the PI swap is a tune required (going to say yes because a tune will always help), and can you do it with out an after market ECU or should I just go for a handheld somewhere in the future?

With stock pi cams you probably gonna be pretty close to right. But like you said gettin a tune is better. Especially a dyno tune which I highly suggest.. With your swap the only thing that concerns me is your air/fuel ratio. Mine was a lean in higher rpms and thats not good. But I also have a bunch of bolt ons and stage 2 pi cams... You will more than likely be good to go after your swap. But if you plan on some bolt ons get a tune.

I plan on rebuilding the heads when I get them, because they are going to be coming out of a 2000 car thats seen its days. Going to low ball the guy see how much I can get them for. If I rebuild the heads I'm probably going to go with an after market cam. So it sounds like a tuner will probably be inline before the head swap.
