the two blocks are different, but what you have planned should still work. the mark VIII block i believe is aluminum and was the same block used in the 96-98 cobras. this block is also known as the teksid block and is very durable. the 04 mach used the WAP (windsor aluminum plant) block.

anyone can feel free to correct me if im wrong...

The Teksid was on 96 to early 01 Cobras. Later 01 Cobras and Machs got the WAP.

No mach 1's had forged cranks. The 5 speed version had 8 bolt cranks but were not forged. Just GT cranks like in the 99-01.5 GT's.

Wrong, the 5 speed manual 03-04 Mach1's had a forged steel crank.

i'm 100% the 5 speed Mach 1s have forged cranks. although i'm not sure if its the same crank as any of the cobras since they have different part numbers (i remember from my 4v build)

I could be wrong, cobra cranks and mach 1 8 bolt cranks have different part numbers which threw me off.
