Default Weird Noise Coming From The Motor

when im in first gear at lower rpms (up to about 3500) i hear a noise almost sounding like a lifter noise or something, and when im in 4th and 5th gear at any rpms i hear the same noise, and it sounds as if it is coming from the passenger side of the motor, any way to tell exactly what it could be without tearing the motor down?

My best guess is a timing chain tensioner. Mine is out and it's doing the same thing. Does it knock when you first start it in the morning?

Question

I'm not exactly sure I haven't payed attention for it then but I think it does, and what's the cost at fixing something like that

Well, I bought a timing chain tensioner from Rock auto for $40, but the damn thing is still going slack, so I ordered one from Ford for $80, I will be picking it up today. It's a moderate job of changing it, I can get in and out in 3 hours, but I am an experienced mechanic. The front timing cover has to come off.

k well my dad and his friends have listened to it and they said it's most likely the timing chain tensioner so my question is that it's under warranty but the ford shop can't get it in for a few days am I ok driving the car?
