2000 4.6l gt2v intake, plenum/trottle questions
I blew my plastic intake manifold a few weeks ago and need to replace it. I have been looking and don't want to go back to the plastic parts. I saw the aluminum version and it is very expensive. i finally found an Edelbrock victor jr.
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...ctor_46l.shtml
take a look at it because the plenum port is square compared to the oval stock intakes. i have seen adapters for it etc. Ive been looking at a 75mm plenum/throttle elbow with little luck at a square size but oval lots of. the main question here is. is the oval of the stock intake restricting air flow? if i get a cold air intake and bump the diameter of the tube intake etc, is it still fine with the oval intake or is the square better. i understand the bigger meaning racing and drag etc but i wanted some experienced people's answers and suggestions. the victor jr to me is cost effective and im looking for a plenum/throttle that will work for a future cold air intake / turbo
thanks

FORD 4.6L V8
VICTOR JR. FORD 4.6L SOHC (3500-7500 rpm)
Following in the footsteps of our Victor Jr. LS1 intake, our Victor Jr. intake for Ford 4.6L SOHC Modular engines allows the customer to take any 1999-2004 SOHC Modular 4.6L engine and convert it for use with a carburetor. #2839 includes an electronic Timing Control Module, which picks up MAP, Crank Position, and Cam Position, and drives the stock Coil-on-Plug system. The Timing Control Module comes loaded with a basic timing curve and rev limit, both can be easily modified using a laptop and the included Pro-Data software. Timing control module available separately. Manifold also available with injector bosses for fuel injection.
This intake is for a carburetor setup bro

I've been looking at this intake as a possible replacement.

THERE ARE TWO EDELBROCK INTAKES, ONES CARBURETED, ONES EFI.
Eagle, that's still a stock design knock off, although I don't doubt it's gains if ported but my guess is it's still limited. There are only a hand full of intakes that are true new designs.
