Default Installing pypes o/r X and have a question...

Ok so tmrw I am going to install my pypes o/r x pipe. I read in the AM install guide you need 3 inch bolts to replace the factory ones where it connects to the existing cat back. But it seems they were doing it on a 04 model and I will be working on an 01. I also have the stock catback. Do I need these longer bolts or anything else for my setup? I need to know so I can get it done in one day as saturday is track day! Thanks!

im pretty sure you can use the stock bolts from the stock midpipe. they should fit with the new mid pipe. i didnt have to change out any bolts when i did my o/r x and packs.

My mid came with new bolts. I used them because my originals were rusty and if you have em, why not right. I would say you should be okay without, just be prepared to make a hardware store run if necessary.

That's my problem. I bought the pipe on here used. I also plan to use the hobby shop on base so I have access to a lift seeing as how it's safer and easier than trying it on stands lol. I won't have time to make a hardware run. I will PM the guy I bought it from and ask if he used longer bolts.

well one of the flanges on the back section of the drivers side of the xpipe had a bent flange. It broke during install so now my damn driver side isn't even hooked up to my catback. Have no idea how I am going to fix it. Looks like I have to take it to a shop. Those flanges look cheap as heck. Probably made in china

My pypes o/r x pipe bolted up fine with my flowmaster catback. Sounds mean as hell too...until the baffles start rattling. lol but no 3 inch bolts needed here.
