i got in my car today and when i turned the ignition i heard a loud pop and i saw smoke coming out of the engine. i turned the car off and looked around under the hood and found that my #2 coil was blown in half. the plastic part that u bolt down to hold the coil in place was broke. what happened?

Your spark plug blew out. Its either time to helicoil it or slap on some trickflow heads.

Pull the coil out and look at the sparkplug rattle around in the hole.

Look at the coil pack if it still in one piece its good. Take the spark plug out if you don't need to use a plug socket to get it loose then the area where your plug goes is stripped out. This just happened to my down the street neighbor on his F-150 it cost him about $2500 with labor to replace the heads.
