Question Removing Factory Bushings...

Ok, well, i searched and searched...and i know WhiteFox will be all over me for making yet ANOTHER thread involving my rear suspension lol. But, that aside, I am hoping to finally get around to doing the install this weekend, and i THINK i have everything covered with the exception of one thing-the removal of the bushings in my axle housing. I could have sworn there was a thread about this but i just cant find it. Is there an easy way to remove the bushings without burning them out or cutting them with a hacksaw blade?

I am open to ANY ideas at all, as well as any other tips for installing my baseline uppers and UPR lowers.

Thanks guys!

Burn them out, or an air chisel is your friend

hmmm. I was thinking, if i could fins a socket that is one size bigger than the bushing itself, and get a piece of 3/8" all thread, and stick a large fender washer on the opposite end of the bushing from the socket, and tighten a nut down on each side, then fully tighten the nut on the socket side it would pull the bushing out with the washer from the other side.... Im sure that seems really confusing, but if you understand what i am saying do you think it will work?

Not that i've done this on one of these cars but I've always use a torch to burn the rubber to ash.

there's a trick. get a drill bit between the rubber and the metal sleeve and let the drill walk the bit around the perimeter of the bushing to cut it out.
