ticking noise

Angry ticking noise

i have a 96 mustang gt i just put performance coil packs on and new plug wires. after the engine is warm there is a ticking noise. i tried making the gap wider to a .065 but the noise is still there. when i take my foot off the gas the ticking goes away. could someone please help me

did it do this before the coil packs and wires?
when i saw this, my first thought was lash adjusters.

no it didnt do it before the coil packs thats why i widened the gap on the plugs when i heard the ticking cuz i thought it was pre-igniting because of the stock gap

oh and it only does the ticking under accelerating it doesnt do it while sitting still

What grade of fuel are you running? Just saying that because I used to run lower grade gas and always heard some kind of noise..When I started running higher octane it stopped.. So everything I own gets 93 octane.Unless it needs or requires higher.

thats kinda what i was thinking too... do u think my injectors are the possible ticker.. i put a stethoscope up to them and i can hear them ticking at idle through that coule that be whats ticking when im accelerating

They will have a slight sound. Try the higher octane fuel and let us know..

tried the higher octane fuel and its still ticking... everything is back to stock... coil packs, plug wires, and spark plug gaps. i even tried cleaning the MAF but no luck. i think the problem is detonation so im just gonna bring it to the dealer and have them fix it
