Well, the shop I use has to send it to get rebuilt.....the entire project will run about $2000. They are just relaying the price of the machine shop, who does the rebuild, to me. All my shop will be doing is removal and install. I trust they would only use only a reputable machine shop in STL for the rebuild project.

I'll most likely just let them put in stock gears, I will not be putting any forced induction on this car, nor any extreme HP projects. I also wasn't aware of the MPG loss with the gear ratio changes. Thanks for the tips dude!

but 3.73's are so funnnn lol. huge gain in feel department. at the very least i would go with some 3.55's. the 3.27's were wimpy lol

4.10's and 31 splines IMO..i would do the 31 splines just for reassurance that your rear end is "bullitt Proof"..and 4.10s really make alot of difference too

$2000!!! You have got to be kidding.

I bought a used Explorer differential, put in a new clutch pack, bought new Strange 31 spline axles, new FRPP 3.73 gears and all new bearings. The parts and labor only cost me around $1000 for a bullet proof rearend. Where in Illinois do you live? I'll sell you my stock (but still good) differential and axles cheap. Send me a PM.

Bloody hell! 2k! No way man, thats way out of line,...try half that. Realistically, you probably just have bearings going, go get some gears, a bearing kit, and some carbon clutch disks and have a real shop install it. That should run you way less than 500 bones.
