Hey everyone
Hello, my name is Corey, I am looking for a little advice and comments, Right now I have an 03 cadillac cts, with 104k which I just put a new tranny, clutch, flywheel, and driveshaft (5 speed). It has 20" rims in which I payed 2k for. I just got back from talking to a local dealership and they have an 02 mustang gt in with, some 17"s and new tire and 90k miles. Its a 5 speed and I test drove it and it ran good. They are asking $10,900, it was previously owned by a lady in her 40's and I know the lady and she did take care of it. If i trade my car in, which my car is worth more I will prolly still have to pay 1-2k of a difference. Is this worth it? And also I plan on supercharging it here within the next 6 months. I dont know much about fords, or mustangs. Is this too many miles to do this? What If I bought some internals to go with the supercharger? Also what kind of work would I have to do to be able to take out LT1 and LS1 camaros?
Thanks for the help guys!

Welcome to the forum. Only you would know if trading in your CTS would be worth it. 90,000 miles is not too much for a supercharger. These mod motors will run a long time if taken car of. I put a supercharger on mine at 80,000 miles and currently have over 120,000 miles on the car. You do not need to change the internals if you keep the horsepower under 400 rwhp. That would be approximately 10 lbs of boost. Around 380 is recommended for a daily driver by most of the tuners I've talked to. That's approximately 450 hp at the flywheel. That and gears will take you a long way on the path to beating stock LT1s and LS1s. They were rated at 325 hp.

try and get em down just a hair on the price but if everything checks out id say its a pretty good deal.
good luck taking out ls1's without dropping some dough. your about 80rwhp shy stock for stock and they make upwards of 350-360rwhp with simple bolt ons, and 400rwhp++ with just a cam.

Man, I can't believe your car is only worth like $8k on trade in. I also think you should try to talk them down on that mustang, I would try 9k flat first. 17"s are stock on a new edge mustang, unless it has a different style. 90k means it was a DD for sure and no offense to chicks out there but they tend to skip maintenance more so than men, that is in my experience. So, even though it may be clean, you don't know how well it was taken care of mechanically unless you have carfax or other proof of service.
Though, I would save up my $$$ and buy a cobra since they are already blown. That is my .02.

10,000 is wayy to much..talk them down to 7000 or 8000 if you can. and 90000 miles is not that many for our cars, they're pretty dang reliable.
and nah you wont need new internals unless you get over 400 rwhp or around 10 psi..then things start breaking..
and you could take out an LT1 easily with Gears and a few bolt ons...Ls1's will take Nitrous and gears or a supercharger..or heads..cams..gears and full bolt ons..
