Default 4 cyl springs for drag springs

When you get 4 cyl springs to install to help weight transfer, do they need to be new or used?

no cutting ive heard to take it down by 1 in the front.
and ive also heard NOT to get a certain brand ive been looking into doing this but wasnt sure if it was really worth it and how my daily driving would be, and how it would affect my cornering. any thoughts?

not to steal the thread but i think these would be things to know for anyone.

I posted a thread about running 4cyl springs about a week and a half ago and I am STILL trying to figure out of anyone in this forum knows whether or not we are suppose to use FOX struts/shocks in new edges if we are using lowered springs? I've been under the assumption that fox springs constitute as being lower than our factory ones.

yes you should. I know I personally answered that in someones thread. https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...or-drag-3.html You could run new edge struts but I think foxes would be better. I'm running fox body Lakewood 90/10 struts and Bullitt shocks, but I think bullits shocks are fine b/c the Bullitts come lower from the factory than GT's.

Hmm thanks. So as far as the front is concerned...I am planning on using 4cyl springs, cut or uncut, I should run fox struts right? And what about the back? How low of a drop from stock would I have to go to be better off using fox shocks?

And would I have to modify anything or are the fox struts/shocks dimensionally the same where it mounts?

Thanks

nothing needs to be modified. I think most people think that they need to be modified and that's probably why you don't hear much about it. I'd say if you drop ~1.5" I would look into it. I did cut my 4cyl springs (Don't remember how much) and my drop is roughly 1.5" (was about 1.75 until I did the motor swap). If you don't cut them you'll probably just get a slight drop and could get away with new edge struts, but if you plan on cutting then I would definitely look into foxs/
