Bad Stuts
*BAD STRUTS*
Well i have had my car lowered for the best of two years with multiple lowering spring kit. I just put a pro kit in it and i notice while taking the stock front struts out i can compress them fairly easily. Is that normal?
Also when i drive and go around a corner @ say 30-45MPH and kit a dip on the corner turning to the right, my front drivers side will make a horrible squeaking noise when the strut is compressed my passenger side doesn't do that.

i just went down to my garage and compressed my stock struts(which are in great condition) and they compress very easily also, so i wouldnt say yours are bad just yet.
as far as the squeaking, are you sure you installed the springs right? did you leave the isolators in or take them out?

Well i have done 3 spring installs on this car using ebay (crap), roush and now the pro-kit. The first two installs i used the isolators and it only started makeing noise after the second install with the roush springs. When i put the pro-kit it the noise is even worse. The tire is rubbing on the fender, i can tell that much when i go around turns.

i would say its probably a good idea to replace the stock stuff anyway. mine were blown beyond belief and when i put on the new ones it was almost night and day on the first drive.
on my blown rear struts it looked like there was oil leaking(coulda been my rear, it had leaked in the past) out of them and it made a farting sound when i compressed them with my hands.

Well i went ahead and order a full set of Tokico HP Struts all around. I got the ones for the fox bodies. I really would have wanted the lakewood ones but i would have only went with the 90/10's and my wife would have been hating life. So since i only race it maybe 3 times in 4 months i went with these.

I installed the new struts. The stock rear struts where shot. They were making a farting sound when compressed. The front struts where leaking fluid also it looked like the rebound seemed weak compared to the new ones. But that is most likely the way the better struts are. So i took it for a drive and it was a very nice improvement over stock. The car rides smoother and can take corners harder than i could with stock ones. I was impressed more than i was thought i would be. Took about 2 hours to do and i also put my new radiator fan in while i was at it. O and my front end sits lower than nomal. I can fit 2 1/2 fingers in between the tire and fender. I didn't want that to happen but...what am i to do. I give it a 7 out of 10 for these struts. Nice upgrade.
