IMO, Just get steel. Then when all is said and done, spray paint them with a sealant.

The original coating was the ruberized zebart coating but now I'll just use the stuff from autozone. (like the bed liner stuff.) I don't remember what it's called just that it comes in a tall can.

I think a good primer and paint, but not so much the rubberized stuff. That kind of thing tends to peel off in chunks. Most of the underside of your car is un-protected anyway, so I would not spend too much worry about it.

Yes, I have always recommended the UPR LCA's/UCA's with poly/spherical ends, but the LCA's don't seem to hold up as well as I had first thought. I now only recommend the Griggs LCA's I have on my own ride.

Save your $30 and get the steel ones - then paint them once they are on the car. I used Steeda FLSFC's and found a deal on some purchased but never used zinc plated ones. I still painted them black once they were on the car. Since then they have gotten pretty scuffed up and are probably in need of another coat. I just used regular flat black spray paint...nothing special. Probably a BBQ black paint would work well too.
