$695 isnt bad at all really. that and the engine will be the most expensive parts so thats good. im not going to do cams or anything, just new bearings, rods and pistons then im good to go correct. does it matter how many miles the engine has on it since im replacing some parts? will my odometer still read how many miles my 4.6 had or how does that work?

Well you might need to freshen up the block depend on the shape the cylinder walls are in. Personally I would look for a slightly lower mileage block or you might have more machine work costs.

I really think you should reconsider the cam though. It's not that much more and it will make a huge difference.

The odometer will read whatever the 4.6 was on and will not match engine miles... just the miles that are actually on the car.

Well I think the 5.4 in your F-150 is a 3v... no? That would be more difficult... and you would have a slow as ***** truck.

Personally I would start off with the complete 5.4 engine if possible.. that way you already have the timing components. You might need to buy new chains but eh no biggy. As far as cams go... Just get something with a decent mid range, you don't want to have to spin this thing to the moon. You're looking for a meaty power band(no homo).

exactly, nothing special. if im going to have to do a swap i might as well gain some torque instead of spending the same money to put in another 4.6. thats the point...
